Deprescribing in Adelaide
I’m a GP (medical doctor) with a long-standing interest in non-medication management of psychological issues. I am happy to review your options for stopping / tapering / deprescribing.
HOWEVER I urge every patient to calmly present the idea of Deprescribing to their own GP and/or Psychiatrist.
You might wish to take in a small brochure to support your idea, and for anti-depressants this RELEASE brochure might be a safe pdf or printout to give to your doctor. The QR code links to more resources that will help your doctor, even though, for some bizarre reason, they are behind a contact form.
Please try it out.
Even if your doctor isn’t willing to deprescribe or taper with you, you will have introduced this idea to them and others may benefit from their awareness in future.
I will be moving into my own solo practice (again) later this year, but in the meantime my current work at Mile End is allowing me to start this deprescribing on a case-by-case basis.
As I am a GP you do not need a referral to see me, but to be able to get a Medicare rebate you will need to have at least the first consultation in person, ie you need to be in Adelaide.
